Talking about H20i? I heard the cops are just giving pointless equipment violations and basically hating on lowered/stanced cars because they want to ruin the fun for everyone. I heard from a friend there that they are literally making kids raise their suspension on the side of the road.

From what I've heard, the city is tired of being descended upon by so many cars, who cruise up and down one street, being very loud and "causing trouble".

Now that the crowd has gone stance, it's pretty easy for the city to pass crazy strict laws, allowing the cops to impound as many of these cars as they can.

I'm here and it's a great time. But we have already seen about a half-dozen cars being towed away on flat beds. All of them were slammed to the ground, so it looks like they are focusing on lowered cars and excessive camber.

Like other guys said, the city doesn't really like having all these people here making noise (despite the $$ we are all spending at local businesses), and it's easy to pass these kinds of laws. So the cops are playing by the book and just enforcing the laws. Its their job.

It's the city that enacted these laws, giving cops a chance to pull you over if anything on your car is modified. They are the real dicks here.

"Fuckheads."

Let's look at this from an outside perspective. Say you're a local, or a vacation-goer. Currently, thousands of cars and people are swarming on them with fartcanned- and slammed, intentionally obnoxious rides. On top of this, of alllllll the enthusiast groups, I think we can all agree that the stance crowd is by far the most trouble-causing and unruly. And that's before there's a million of them in one place.

Additionally, I've been hearing the main things they've been looking for when ticketing/towing/impounding are excessive camber, excessively low ride height (especially aired-out bags), windshield stickers, missing bumpers, and loud exhaust.

Ocean City is a very popular vacation destination for much of the East Coast, meaning it is commonly (and usually is) overrun with vacation goers, including many families.

Every single cop target listed above can, in some way, potentially harm these vacation-goers, whether it is a pedestrian being run over because the driver couldn't see around his
"Dapper" sticker, or if its their ankles being sliced off because he hit a bump, was aired out, the car darted a bit, and sliced someone's ankles off because he took off the bumper to show off his sweet front-mount.

Stance is a really dumb and dangerous fad, and the OCPD is rightfully seeing a way to profit off of it in massive amounts. That seems pretty smart and pretty fair to me.

Pay a few hundred bucks and have them towed out of the city limits. Or worse, it gets impounded and you need to pay even more on top of the towing fee. The cops get revenue, the towing companies make a KILLING, everyone wins except for the car enthusiasts.
